What was wrong with the elevator?
A Filipino businessman and his Australian associate decided to go
out and have lunch at a nearby restaurant. They were waiting for
the elevator to open on the 4th floor of a commercial building tower
in Makati City. Something was apparently wrong with the elevator but
it was still safe to use.
When the elevator door opened a woman stepped out and the
Filipino chatted with her very briefly in Tagalog. Then she went on
her way, and both the Filipino and his associate entered the

"Tagalog is a unique language. I don't understand what you two
talked about but I never heard anybody complete a conversation by
saying the same one syllable repeatedly."
